This is an excellent original revolution counter from a 1958 Jaguar Mark IX saloon. It is in good working condition, clean with nice face, bezel and casing. The needle works when the input shaft is turned and it is free and smooth, so we are betting it could be used as it is.This instrument is designed for external illumination. However, it could be fitted with internal bulbs in the bosses at the rear with slight modification, and then it would be applicable for a Jaguar XK 120, 140 or early...

SMITHS ammeters in classic British cars were usually rated at 30 amps, fine for the original generator, but in case you have upgraded to an alternator, you'll need one that can handle the extra amperage.This one is made by Caerbont, the successor to the SMITHS company, on original factory tooling in the same shop that the old company occupied. This is a new SRB316 starter solenoid, but no longer supplied by Lucas or in a Lucas box.  It is the correct starter solenoid for most six-cylinder Jaguars, including XK120, XK140, XK150, E-type, Mark I, Mark 2, Mark VII, Mark VIII, Mark IX, Mark IX, S-type, 420, 240, 340, Daimler 2 1/2, 250, SP250, as well as early MGB, Triumph TR2, TR3, TR4, big Healey, Land Rover, and many others.
