MGAs and early MGBs used Jaeger instruments. The SMITHS company made Jaeger gauges under license in England during the 1950s and 1960s, using the same tooling for instruments they sold under the Smiths name. Thus a Smiths dual gauge for a later MGB (around 1965 and later) is identical to a Jaeger gauge from an earlier MG apart from the name on the face of the instrument. Working original Jaeger dual gauges have become very hard to find.
Since SMITHS is still in business as Caerbont, Ltd., and still manufacturing these original gauges using the original tooling, Rogers Motors is proud to offer a brand new SMITHS dual gauge with an original Jaeger face. It is a UK-made instrument with an original face from an MGA gauge, identical to the original accept that there is a bulb in the rear of the gauge housing instead of the MGA type of illumination, which works from the side of the instrument housing.
There is no core charge on this instrument.
