This is our last 7-inch right hand drive (RHD) Lucas sealed beam headlamp/headlight. It has a light socket in the back for an extra light.
These were fitted to most British cars of the 1960s through early 1980s with twin 7-inch round headlamps.
This is set up for right-hand-drive cars, that is, it dips to the left on the low beam. Technically, this is not legal for driving on the right hand side of the road, but the odds of blinding an oncoming motorist with a tungsten lamp like these, powered by the generator or alternator of a thirty-plus-year-old British car, are remote indeed. Modern vehicles generally have three to five times the alternator output of a classic British car, plus headlamp relays and much more modern halogen bulbs, so their headlamps are vastly brighter then these lamps can ever be, and MUCH more likely to cause discomfort or worse for the drivers of oncoming vehicles.
It is a perfect original Lucas-branded sealed beam, made thirty or more years ago. We guarantee that it will work as new, and in fact we test each one before we ship just to make sure.
The website will allow you to select 2 headlamps, but we only have one left!
We do offer many other options for Lucas headlamps, so please have a look at the Related Products list, or call us at 413-259-1722 for advice or comments.
