This is a pair of new old stock original Lucas Square Eight spot, or driving, lamps. They are genuine Lucas, made in the 1970s. They are in superb original condition, as the pictures show. One still has its original Lucas box, althought the other does not.
Lucas LR8 lamps were a very popular accessory lamp in the 1960s through the 1980s. Many manufacturers, including Jaguar, Rolls-Royce, Rover, Reliant and others offered these lamps or the FT8 fog lamp version as factory fitments to their cars. They were indeed a modern version of the classic Lucas accessory lamp, with well-designed lenses and H3 halogen bulbs (which are still sold today at most auto parts stores).
