This is a pair of rare original Lucas Le Mans headlamps, as used on high performance British cars, such as Jaguar C-type, Lotus IX and XXI, Austin-Healey 100S and 100/4M as well as 100/6 and 3000 works racing and rally cars, MG factory race cars including Sebring cars and twin Cams, works racing Sunbeam Alpine and Tiger, competition Minis and Aston Martins during the 1950sand 1960s. They were also fitted by owners who wanted better lighting for high speed travel at night. They were THE lights to have for nighttime racing.
These lights are quite rare. Pristine examples sell for close to $2,000 for a pair (we do have two sets like that, one pair in original boxes from the 1950s!). This pair has some damage to the reflectors as well as sand damage and minor scratches to the lenses. They are usable and a patient person could polish much of the lens damage away, although that takes a long time to do. From a few feet away, they look just fine. Although this is not pictured, this pair of lights comes with new bulbs and a pair of adapter sockets so they will plug directly in to a standard sealed beam headlight plug.
