These XK140/early XK150 Jaguar Tail Lamps have rechromed bases, new bulbs and lens gaskets. They are excellent driver quality lamps. The chrome is excellent, but there are tiny speckles. They have never been installed since refurbishment, so that is a little puzzling. The chrome shines great, though. They come equipped with the very rare amber lenses (the internal reflectors in the amber lenses are clear, not red) which a few US market Jaguars, Triumphs and MGAs had for 1955 through 1957. Most had the normal red lenses. We will substitute a pair of new Lucas red lenses if the buyer prefers. The amber lenses are excellent, but they do have very tiny hairline cracks which are very hard to see and do not compromise the strength or appearance of the lens.
A lamp with a red lens isa shown for comparison.
Please see our blog on this website for more information about these rare and desirable lenses.
These lamps fit all Jaguar XK140 and most XK150 cars, up to about 1960.
New lamps are available, nicely made, but they cost $895 per pair, while amber lenses have not been available for decades.
Body mounting rubbers are sold separately.
