This is a complete 1952 Jaguar XK120 roadster, or open two-seater project car.
It was purchased decades ago in California as a non-running project. We purchased it from the estate of the gentleman who bought it many years ago, drove it for some time, then partly dismantled it. We believe it has always been a dry west coast car, but it was stored outdoors in the Arizona sun for a long time (the car was in a shed when we found it).
The car is in need of total restoration but it is complete and, for the most part, very solid, with straight sheetmetal. The bodywork is complete and intact, and it was sandblasted to bare metal and primed with primer-sealer last year, both above and underneath, so there are no hidden surprises.
As the pictures show, the chassis is as close to perfect as you are likely to find on a project XK, with virtually no corrosion anywhere. The sills have perforations at the ends but even they are solid for the most part, as are the hinge and shut pillars. The doors have nearly perfect gaps (see the pictures for this).
It come with either a complete non-matching numbers XK120 engine (we have two of those to choose from) or a rebuilt Mark VII engine, identical to the XK120 unit lacking the XK120 serial number. The gearbox is complete, correct and intact and its numbers are close to the original, but it is not the original. Suspension, steering, five wheels, all instruments and switches, bumpers and brackets, convertible top frame, starter and Special Equipment generator, horns, relays, all lights and fixtures, an excellent grille and taillamp housings, and many other parts not in this list, are all correct for an early XK120 roadster and are included in this sale. This is a complete project, and all parts to finish it are included, ready to restore.
There is a clear title.
We can help load the car onto your transporter. The tires hold air.
The car is in Massachusetts but we can arrange transportation anywhere in the free world.
