We just love things like this! Found at an autojumble in England, this is an ultra-rare Lucas reverse lamp set, complete with a pair of L539 lamps, wiring, rare white illuminated push-pull switch, fitting instructions, even a bag of connectors for the wiring, and all packaged in a great display box and marked, "4-65" as date of manufacture. It's almost too cool to put on a car, and in fact, until somebody buys it, we'll have it on display here at Rogers Motors.
This set of lights would be perfect on a car of the 1950s or 1960s, before they began putting reversing lamps on cars in general. They could be mounted on brackets to hang beneath the rear bumper (or above it) if you'd rather not drill holes in your classic English car.
If you would settle for a NOS black illuminated Lucas push-pull switch instead of the white one illustrated, the price for this kit will be $20 less. The black switch is shown on the bottom picture, identical to the white one apart from its color.
These lamps have not been removed from the packaging since 1965, and we have not disturbed them to take their picture. Their new owner can take such liberties if he feels so inclined!
We also sell new lamps and lenses, and carry a good supply of used and NOS L538 and 539 lenses in red, amber and clear, as used on MGA 1500, AC Aceca, Cobra, Turner, and other cars; see Related Products below. We have more that aren't listed, so if you don't see what you're looking for, please contact us.
