This is a pair of genuine new Lucas headlamp bowls/buckets, complete with adjusters and and inner and outer retaining rings. Dust seals for the headlamp rims and rubber gaskets are also included. This is the three-adjuster style, correct for most British cars of the 1950s with 7-inch headlamps. They will also work just fine with later cars, from the 1960s through the 1980s, which had two-adjuster bowls. It must be admitted that these are not as fine as the original Lucas headlamp bowls, and they come with LUCAS marked on the backs but no lettering on the front. The inner rims, which come with these bowls, are cadmium-plated and not polished chrome like the originals.
They are complete, genuine Lucas in a new Lucas green and white box, and they are not expensive. At $65 per pair, they are less than half the list price charged by others for similar parts.
We can supply new chrome-plated inner rings for $36/pair, heftier body gaskets for $11.50 per pair, and better wiring pigtails and headlamp plugs for $18 per pair. We also stock a variety of outer chrome trim or beauty rings.
This set will fit MGA, MGB, MG Midget, MG 1100, MG Magnette, MGC, Austin-Healey Sprite, 100 and 3000, classic Mini, Morris Minor, Triumph TR2, TR3, TR4, TR5, TR250, TR6, Spitfire, GT6, Standard, Rover, Jaguar (most models from 1955 to 1970 or later), and just about any other British car from the period with two 7-inch headlamps.
If you prefer original parts, we can supply good used original headlamp bowls, with as much mounting hardware as you might need, in both styles. Please contact us for details.
