Description

This is a fine accessory for any Daimler owner. It is a rare original CUD key fob of the 1950s and 1960s with a black leather "torpedo" design. The key fob is of original New Old Stock English Morocco leather while the cloisonne enameled Daimler badge is an original, made in England but not NOS. The cloisonne tag is in excellent original condition, beautifully detailed but with one chip in the red enamel. The reverse is stamped, "John McCue, Bannockburn" (Scotland, of course!) and the magic letters, "C U D." We think that John McCue was probably the name of the first owner of the car to which this fob was originally attached, but that is just a guess. The back of the leather fob in imprinted with "ROSSLEIGH," "ALLAN PARK," and some other gold lettering which we can't read. There is a Rossleigh Jaguar in Edinburgh, which must be the same company, as Jaguars and Daimlers are the same company, at least since 1960! Cool stuff, in any case.

There is some damage at the top of the leather fob, where the ring attaches, so we have added some Super glue to reinforce it and reattached the key ring, but if the buyer prefers, we will fit a new old stock English Morocco leather fob from the 1960s to the cloisonne tag and include the original Rossleigh one for interest.

Original CUD key rings like this are quite rare these days, and this one has a new old stock original leather fob, making it quite unusual and very cool indeed, we think.

Thanks for looking, and please see our other auctions for more British bits, or email us for new and original Lucas parts, parts for MG, early Jaguar, or Volvo 122 or British bicycles and parts.

We are British car specialists and hold large stocks of original, used, NOS and reproduction parts for your British car. Please see our other auctions or contact us for very competitive pricing. We are a very small company but we'll do our best to beat anybody else's price for British car parts!

NOTE TO UK BUYERS!Due to the miracle of Brexit, it is now horrendously expensive to ship to the UK, what with duties, VAT and other fees. We do make an annual trip to the Beaulieu Autojumble each September, and will be happy to bring this item with us for display or delivery on our stand, which is normally G045. But check with the Directory to be sure they don't reassign us elsewhere, please.
