Most older British cars did not come equipped with headlamp relays. The advantage of a relay is that much more current gets to the lamps, meaning much brighter lighting, as well as a greatly reduced current draw through the lighting switch, so the switch will last a lot longer. We strongly recommend this kit for any British car built before about 1980. This is the an Intermotor Sports Coil, replacement for the famous Lucas Sports Coil that delivers a much higher voltage than standard ignition coils and therefore a hotter/more powerful spark than a normal coil for quicker starts and, theoretically, better fuel economy. We have one fairly good Triumph TR4A or TR250 sidelamp cluster. It's in decent condition, with shiny chrome and good working bulb sockets. The lenses are good, but the front one has some minor damage which doesn't show in the pictures. This is a brand new genuine Lucas 3-position toggle switch, on-off-on Lucas no. 31743. It is a less common switch, used for directional indicator lamps.
