Halogen Bulbs in Lucas Fog and Driving Lamps: not all they're cracked up to be!

Many people ask us if they can get brighter bulbs for their Lucas fog or spot lamps. In the past, we have recommended a pair of our high-output halogen BPF bulbs, which we have sold for several years. But lately we have had several complaints from customers whose spot lamps (which they purchased from us) have cracked, possibly due to the heat generated by halogen bulbs. We are often asked the differences between, or among, fog, spot and driving lamps.First off, spot and driving lamps are the same thing. The English term is “spot,” while the Americans tend to refer to these lamps as “driving” lamps.
